Thinking of getting a detachable tow bar fitted to the car and so will need to use one of these

Seems to clamp around the ball what chance of any slippage and would I be better off with a flange (oh err) mount like this

the top one is for swan neck tow bars. if you have a standard Type Approved towbar then you need the bottom one. the pendle racks are not interchangeable between the two. we have a swan neck, the braqcket sticks out a fair way but woe betide any tail gaters!

detachable ones tend to be the swan neck type which means you’ll be stuck witht he first.

    they’re fine.

only issue might be that you can’t tow a trailer at the same time as carrying bikes.

    Hi
I use the top mounting block on 2 cars one with swan neck and other with flange type towball. Works great with either.
