Isn’t Redpoint a fair trek from the main Torridon routes though? We stayed 2 nights at the Torridon Inn (YH was full & there’s not that many B&B’s) It was decent enough & you can ride from the door.

YHA is a good location, The Torridon Hotel is also but maybe a bit pricey. B&B or cottage depending on your numbers.

Camp site is free with hot showers, however be prepared for Midge Armageddon.

It is indeed free but it’s an absolute bog.

There is one shower that resembled the toilet from Trainspotting.

The midges were the worst I’ve ever encountered and I had to abandon the site early one morning and retreat to Fort William.

Don’t camp.

There’s a nice little wood up the glen with good camping spots and offers a bit of shelter when the wind gets up. Midges are indeed something else up there. I recommend a tent that’s easy to turn inside out and shake every so often.

The general recommendation is to camp at Shieldaig as it’s windier and less midge infested, but the trade off is no showers.

Cheers lads probs stay at the Torridon Inn or hotel if they have availability. Just ordered an OS map for the area so will have a look at some websites for the routes. Anybody any preferences route wise. Thx JT

Lollipop loop is probably my favourite.

Other options for accomodation would be Lochcarron or Applecross.

Youth hostel up there is excellent. As is Mol Mor. As for routes, there’s the one classic must do one that everyone does. Will crop up in any search online.

That’s a wonderful location duncancallum but a pretty long drive down to Torridon.

The bothy at Craig is a really cool place to stay – loved going there. YHA is good too. Food at the Torridon Inn was pretty decent although I could have eaten a horse at that point.

The Ben Damph Estate log house is rather nice, for a bigger group. http://www.bendamph.com/

Rode there this spring. Did the classic clockwise loop from the nature centre (park there) and the lollipop too. The bowl is very, very loose and just hike a bike at the mo. The classic is actually worthy of the word. The only natural 45min downhill in the UK. It’s well worth it. Believe the hype.
