    Untighten the bolt that attaches the mech to the mech hanger & see if it moves away from the cassette slightly.

    Is it a medium or short cage rear mech? You often need a long cage mech for wider range cassettes.

    Had a problem like this with an X4 mech. The b screw bears directly on the back of the hanger and a minor off can cause the screw to find a new ‘home’ in the soft alloy of the hanger making it difficult to put any tension on the b screw.

    Not a problem with more expensive mechs they have a steel tab to protect the hanger.
