Just managed to squeeze the last pint of Russian Winter from the barrel earlier. Found a Brakspears Triple hiding in the wrong cupboard with a loose Old Peculiar. The Triple has gone and the peculiar is going and then it is down to either Bombardier or Hobgoblin. Laphroig as a nightcap.

Strongbow, but only cos I’m painting the bathroom today, MrsH doesn’t fancy wine so I’m not allowed to open a bottle of red, and my latest batch of homebrew needs a little bit longer in the bottle… Strongbow fron the corner shop is therefore all I have… Tragic, tragic…

Mahou 5 Estrellas, as per usual. Not a bad lager, but would rather have ale… Spain is pretty crap for beer 🙁

Probably ought to try home brewing, but drink enough as is.

    HAve you tried adding hops @ + 10min , or even +15min.
We hop and copper fine at -2min , then wait 2 min and switch off.
Then add more hops whilst the protein and boil hops are settling out.
I think you will still infuse the oils and ‘flash’ less of the volatile ones out and into the atmosphere .

Both those recipes look good. Do you get over attenuation with US05? We use it sometimes and it doesnt really ferment quickly at 20 – 24’C , just slow and steady . It then keeps on going whilst cooling and seems to slow right down once below 9’C.
