    Helping a friend with Christmas present research for his missus.

    Looking for a simple, easy-to-use movie camera that also does stills. Any good recommendations?

    tinribz – Looks good. Cheers for the tip.

    Someone else suggested iPod nano. Great for versatility, but doubts about quality.

    Chatting further to friend, he's heard of cameras that take an external 'slave' camera that mounts on helmet and feeds into a real camera in ones pocket doing the actual recording.

    Is this a set-up that anyone has used/heard of?

    Is it good/affordable?
