Anyone know this walk?
The SO and I have done this walk three or four times, the last time being a few years back. We invited a bunch of friends to come and walk it on Sunday.
After climbing up the firebreak, we got to the blue cycle trail (wasn't there last time) and couldn't find the way up to the fire watchtower. You used to be able to just carry on straight up the fire break to the watchtower. The firebreak is now massively overgrown and after thrashing about through very tight, needly conifers for half an hour, we gave up and cut the walk short.
Does anyone know if there's another route now, or have they just let the walk lapse into disuse? It would be a real shame as it's one of the best walks with the best variety of scenery in the area.
