  • Those face mask/buff/balaclava things with freaky designs…

A few months back I saw SportPursuit were selling some sort of face-protection item that was like half a balaclava, almost like a buff, and they had freaky designs on them like a sharks mouth, or a clowns mouth.

Anyone know what they’re called? And has anyone used one to help keep the freezing wind off their face? Do the breating holes stay over the mouth/nose or do they keep falling down?

I assume that you mean these? 😕

Not sure I’d wear one myself, I prefer to just use a buff……

Yes! Those were the ones. Thanks!

I do wonder if cars might give a bit more room for a cyclist wearing one of these: http://airholefacemasks.com/portfolio/defenceman-2/

Dunno, I’ve only seen them worn by accountants on Harley Davidsons, and Chavs handging arround the enterances to shopping centers. In both cases my prejudiced oppinion of the wearer is absolute badass tryhard douche.

Respro make some less ugly ones IIRC designed for filtering trafic fumes. But IMO a buff keeps the neck warm and anything over the mouth gets wet and sweaty as soon as you breathe into it.
