Do people actually use granny rings these days?

Another vote for Blackspire here, but also have a look at TA. I’m running a full set of TA on the Enduro at the moment, having used Blackspire previously. Am impresed with the TA in terms of wear/shifting and lack of chain suck so far!

I’d love to know why anyone needs a granny ring to be strong – how in the world would you break one even if it wasn’t strong??? (so long as it is strong enough to pull the chain along a bit)

Got a stainless TA one which has lasted pretty well. Much better than the XT one it replaced, which seemed to be made of cheese…

Alloy granny rings are like cheese absolute shite they wear out or as Ton found they snap. If you are strong and heavy you need a decent one..
