Some bright spark disappointed with the concept of the Olympic relay spending half it’s life trundling around in a transit, so organised the The REAL RELAY

It follows the entire 8000 mile Olympic Relay route non-stop, using runners 24 hours a day. It started 10 days after the Olympic one and aims to get to complete before the opening ceremony. Using a satnav tracker beacon as the torch baton it’s so far completed the West of England, Wales, the Isle-of-Man, Ireland and is soon Moving into Scotland.

If you want to run a section get over to the website now and book a slot. I noticed that Bridge of Orchy to Kings House Hotel is still up for grabs, which has got to be a pretty awesome relay section! and dammed sight more memorable than watching a coca-cola publicity van trundle though Fort William 🙂
Pass on the link to anyone who might be interested, as an event this could be epic!
