I have soft spot for Scots and Scotland and would hate to be parted or in conflict.

But this post, like the rest of the whining, is annoying. Personally, I want Wessex to have more self-governance but I’m not whining about it! If Scots want even more self-governance*, then win people of over rather than whining.

*Independence is IMO a misleading word: What “Nation” is independent? London is subservient to Brussels and Washington, for example.

    Rant over. Apologies to Scotland!

    Who’s whining?

It’s a great, quirky song and you can take or leave the political content.

No doubt someone will be along to tell me I have a chip on my shoulder for being “Scotch”

    :o)

I’ve been to a couple of their gigs – great fun.
    I don’t think that’s a good example.
Which is why I thought you were having a sly whinge.
    [aren’t you, really?]

Some closet Hibbees on here at last!

Their version of Steve Earle’s “My Old Friend the Blues” is my favourite btw. And they are outstanding live.

It sounds too much like the original for me. Not that I’m knocking the original, Mr Earle is a god in my eyes, but they did nothing with it.

    Hard to choose almost.

Not theirs obviously but that Wreckless Eric Cover (Wide World?)was brilliant imo.

The drink that I had 3 hours ago has been joined by 14 others in a steady flow. Awesome. As is Cap in Hand and My Old friend the blues. I have been known to (badly) sing a Proclaimer song or 2 on karaoke. I’ve seen them 3 times and would go again. They’re a proper good live band.

Ton, hope you’ve noticed but they are playing the leeds academy in october.

    see ya there.

as for favorite it has to be burn your playhouse down – but only as a result of as stoned caver singing it (badly) in a hut some years ago.
