I have not been up the Pentlands for many years. I was thinking of setting off from Flotterstone and going up Turnhouse Hill and Carnethy Hill and then dropping down to the Howe and then back. Now, is this possible at the moment with conditions under tyre, how difficult are the two hills. I was hoping for a good medium rated ride about 2 hours, is my choice of route a bit ambitious or is there another route I could try, I have a map of the Pentlands but just not sure of the terrain.
Any advice would be very much appreciated, if there was someone out there fancy joining me tomorrow, that would be great. I plan on being at Flotterstone about the back of 8.00am.

I was out for a 9-10 mile walk today and would just warn that the ground is completely sodden. Less than optimum conditions for taking a bike round the ridge.
