When you see how many people have taken to the Boris Barclays bikes, that looks like a perfect town bike.
    Could be a winner. 😉

Can’t find anything on the site that actually suggests he has anything to do with it at all…

Won’t take long for that frame to start appearing on the latest BSOs.

Revolutionary German propulsion system. Coincidentally called Shimano Deore.

    Hmmm.

    Named after GO’B.

With or without his consent and support.

To be fair, he might need the money, but other than “named after” it doesn’t seem to reference the man himself. Could be wrong of course.

They can’t be that pleased with it to have photographed it in the dark

24kg is about normal for an e-bike isn’t it?
Pedal assist is quite addictive. Shame they always cut out at 15mph 🙁

    chuffing nora!

you’re probably right, but how do they make it so heavy?

take a 10kg hybrid, add another 1kg of bomb-proof tyres, add 3kg of battery, add 2kg of motor, and you’ve still only got… 16Kg.

    what’s the rest, lead weights?!

it’s still a bike, it’s got to fit into a world that hates bikes, that means lifting it up kerbs, up/down stairs, into/outof cars, etc. And the kind of person who wants an e-bike isn’t going to enjoy hefting that around.

Does anyone know if it has any connection with Obree? Or have they just stolen his name?

Looking into it, you’re right. 24kg is overweight – The full sus Scott that I rode briefly at the NWMTB demo day was only 20kg.
    (although that was £3800).

But bear in mind that the Boris bike (fully rigid, limited gearing, not electric) is 23kg!!
