A mate suggested we get our slicks out and have a go at this cos it’s local.

Just how tough do you reckon this would be? (especially without training for it). 75 miles of pennine hills on tarmac on a Zaskar with slicks.

The Holme Valley Mountain Bike Challenge is half the distance but does have some, albeit not, a lot of off road. Calderdale Mountain Bike Marathon is only nicely a third of the distance but has as lot of offroad, with no chance to get into any sort of rhythm and most of it physically demanding.

How do you think they compare? Has anyone done them both/all?

I’ve done ’em all…but in different years and different states of fitness (ranging from fair to mediocre)

It wouldn’t be much fun on a slicked up mtb, there is a lot of climbing and you’ll feel the weight.
