Torq bars, torq gels and torq drink.
Nuun good aswell, but it has no carbs.

depends on how long hard you riding, you need to mix low GI and hi GI foods togeather.

Jelly beans, bananas and granola bars get me through. Jelly belly jelly beans to be precise – not the sports ones though, they are disgustingly sweet and expensive!

You need some salt somewhere and some long acting and some short acing sugars as well

Half a kilo of jelly babies was good yesterday tho. Glucose mainly with a bit of gelatine and traces of other stuff

I had a handful of tangfastics before my last ride at Cannock, I was riding like I was on rocket fuel. Sadly forgot to take the bag with me so I ran out of energy quite quickly and didn't have any sweets to top me up again 🙁

So my vote goes to tangfastics 🙂

Sun dried bananas, the soft ones that look like cat poo's!

I find salted cashews the best way to take on salt on a long ride.
Fig rolls and fruit jellies are good.
Never tried malt loaf, but every time I'm on a ride and I see someone else eating it, I think "I'll have to remember to bring some next time".

I once rode with a chap (the big Mr O) who drank warm vimto from a thermos on chilly winter rides. Loveley

Cereal bars if I have no malt loaf, malt loaf at all other times.

    mmmmmmmm malt loaf.

    Another vote for Nakd bars.
Although I can just imagine someone working in an apple juice factory who has spent his life shovelling the left over pulp in to skips, suddenly saying one day "Hey, why don't we cut this stuff in to little bars and sell them for £1 each?"

Pretty much any combination of the above barring the kind of stuff the LBS sells. I did once take a banana and peanut energy sandwich with me. Didn't do it again as it was minging.

High5 4:1 energy source is a great energy/protein drink for during rides – contains electrolytes too.

Rhodiola Rosea – tablets/capsules – I find this stuff really helps with strength and recovery time …. it has various uses, but recovery from intense exercise is good!! [various places to buy it on-line or health stores & google search the benefits too if it helps]
