Off to Northern California for two week family holiday in April, with a week in the middle to drive up the West Coast as far as Portland and back.

It’s a family holiday so not taking bike, but want to hire and ride in as many accessible spots as possible over the two weeks. Ease of access and navigation the key points – I’ll only have short windows to ride.

If you’ve ridden anything around those parts – anything between Napa Valley and Portland up the 101 – I’d love to hear about it.

A little bit off route, but I’d recommend a visit to Bend, Oregon. Great beer and trails.

+1 for Bend, phils is great and also my favourite trail was to take Cogwild shuttle out to do McKenzie river

Look at Crater Lake too as a place to visit, if you can get on a boat tour it’s worth it, also Downieville for riding too.
