I'm considering getting an Alpitude frame (LBS bargaintastic deal) but I suspect the 18" one will be a bit too small for me. I'm 6'1" or so, 34" inside leg, and I don't mind a compact frame but I would like to use it for long day rides, not just arsing about in the woods. Thoughts and pics of tall peoples bikes muchly appreciated.

Im 5 11 and bought said bike when they were released.

I had the 18" and found it too small – Funnily enough a 17" p7 fits way better.

Split and sold within 2 months as preferred to ride my other bikes.

Im sure someone will be along in a minute and disagree though!! 😀

EDIT – Also the finish was appalling (IMO) – I was actually stopped mid ride by a fellow MTBer walking his dog who commented on the crap welding on the seat tube/top tube brace!!! Luckily I got the full build which retailed for £1400 for £950 – who you know eh!

A good friend of mine has an 18" Alpitude and he's 6"2" and has no probs.

I'm 5 foot 11 (nearly) with a 33 inside leg and ride the 16.5 inch version. Love it. I went through lots of hardtails to find this is actually a keeper. I tend to saunter up the hills and then have fun on the down and along bits.
