Shall I ditch the fixie and get a cross bike for my commute...?
The way I see it, I can't use JUST the fixie for my new commute. Not without a fair bit of walking. I can't see myself driving 10 minutes every morning to be able to use the fixie what would bore the living shit out of me and negate the environmental benefit of biking. Other option is using the mtb. But I can't see myself ruining my mtb for commute duties plus there is no place to lock it so I don't want it to disappear.
So cross bike seems to be the reasonable option. Some questions now, who makes a cross bike with horizontal dropouts, in case I want to SS or use it as fixie. How does a Xbike SS ration compare to a mtb one?
