Re the costs of Van’s Vs Hotels, surely that depends on the ratio of miles:days? Driving down to Cornwall and being a suft bum for the summer and the van wins hands down, round the world in a month (20 nights, 1000miles a day) and doubling the mpg by getting an estate and even good hotels would probably be cheeper.

Ohhh and, do it! I’m pestering the missus to do this and I’m in my 20’s, if I have to wait that long I’ll go mad! If you don’t do you really think you’ll be happier in 12 months havning gone to work 9till5 for 48 weeks of the year instead of going away?
