Has anyone heard anything about this? I read it on the MTB Britain forum.

Someone is apparently trying to sue swinley after they fell off a hirebike and broke their rib.
Apparently the legal company complained about the tracks outside the "expert area" and hence Mr stickler has stopped them from being maintained until the case is done.

I can't find any more info on it.

Not too far from the mark apparently. But Mr Stickler is retiring/has retired and a new forestry bloke has been appointed who has MTB "form" (in a good way)

Have to say the staff at swinley ( ranger chap and ladies in reception) were fantastic and an enormous help last Saturday. A friend of mine stacked it in a bad way and broke his collar bone and both wrists on a bit near Surrey hill ( big steep drop in with a jump up the other side).
Their medical advice, help in getting the ambulance etc was very much appreciated. Doing a fantastic job IMO.

Bikes can be hired but common sense can't. 🙄
