I was meandering along a fairly quiet local road on my bike, following my daughter on her bike. Approaching on the other side of the road were three yoffs, two of whom were on bikes.
As we approach, one of them starts to move over towards my side of the road. As we pass he sharply steers right towards me, naturally enough making me steer to the left in order to avoid hitting him. My inital reaction was WTF is he doing.
He then gleefully shouted ‘swerver!’ before cycling back to join his mates.
At the time, all I could think to do/say was to mutter ‘dick’ at him (rest easy Oscar Wild).
So is ‘swerve’ a new craze amoung the young? Has anyone else experienced this? Should I encounter this situation again, should I just hold my line?
