    Anyone got one?

    And, what’s your assessment?

    Cheers

Not got one nor can afford one but have driven one – cracking wee go-cart car that i’d be perfectly happy with.

Yeah, the whole ethos appeals – just over 1000 Kg’s so 123 BHP (Mk1) is pretty useful

    Not too pricey either

I had a swift sport from new and had it for 7 years till my 1st baby came , i did 94,000 miles in it , The best most fun car i have owned, great drivers car great handling, after 3 years and the warranty ran out i had it chipped and fitted an induction kit and performance exhaust it was mental (but drivable) do it get one ,i can see them being a future classic in 10 years time . They loved to be thrashed as VVT comes in around 4000 revs get one. I would defo have another .

Lots of fun to drive and better built than a Mini. Unfortunately my wife bought the later.

I’m 6 feet tall and it felt quite roomy.

Mates 6.2 loved his leathered it everywhere cheap to run. Prefered it to the 3Ltr z3 he got rid of.

I guy in my team has one and drive us to the pub one lunchtime. He was having a fun keeping the revs high and placing it into corners, I was so envious I asked to drive back. I loved it. For me it seems like the modern mini, it’s quite finger tippy to drive and I love high revving cars, I expect you can utilise all it’s bhp at times. The cabin build was solid but a bit bland, but that’s forgiven as most importantly it drives so well. He’s really happy with it. If I was looking for a car if that type I wouldn’t consider anything else.

Edit my 6’3 colleague said the passenger room was ok too

    LOL – you’re missing out

Bishops’s Castle to Bridges road is just glorious in the Swift

I do like them a lot, but going from 300 bhp focus to 130 bhp, might be a bit too much of a drop. I believe they are fitting a turbo in a couple of years time……….
Its still on my radar, as the focus is a great car, but not a nippy car.

I think the 123 BHP of the Swift is perfectly matched. It’s not about big power with this car, it’s the lightweght and handling

I have a 330BHP Type R Impreza and have owned many high powered Subaru’s

    This Swift is purity compared

The Focus is a heavy lump in comparison

I agree Bonesetter. I do like them, but the torque from the lazy 5 cyl is just fantastic. The swift is always a car I have fancied, but a few more horses may convince me further. But having had a Lotus Elise S2 111s, I understand the purity of driving, but the roads round here are too potholed to enjoy it.

Ah, i owned a Elise S1 tuned to 165BHP – great on track, but underpowered and out classed on road

The Swift is perfectly suited to crappy roads and has enough power
