My work is applying for a sustainable transport grant from Transport for Greater Manchester (TFGM) and have asked the cyclists in the office for input. We (think we) are eligible for a grant for facilities and want to maximise our chances of getting it. Has anyone here done it and can you offer some practical advice on what/what not to say?

    Thanks in advance

Like any other grant it is given for a purpose and will have outputs and outcomes to achieve. Read the criteria/guidance and structure the application to demonstrate how you meet their requirements.

In my experience it is always best to beildly optimistic but realistic with the clas you make in the application.

And finally the best advice you can get will be from the funder. They are there to help you achieve their objectives and want to give you money to achieve this.

There can often be a rather basic metric assessment of vfm by dividing the outputs by £ and sometimes this is used to sift initial applications.
