    Bumper crop of hazelnuts round my way this year. I suspect the council forgot to cut the bushes back at the wrong time of year like they usually do.

    Ha! I remember some years ago when I lived just outside Durham & running a petrol station & a local farmer asked me If I liked mushrooms, he pointed out a field & said ‘get over there’, so I did. I had so many mushrooms for about 3 weeks I was giving them away with petrol!

    Are they DezB? We had a couple from the same spot in the same field last year and suffered no ill-effects…

    Hundreds in our local woods. Wish I knew which ones wanted to kill me and which to cook. 😥

    quite a few roadkill pheasants near us too. maybe if i’d ran one over to guarantee freshness i’d have given it a thought…
