My dad’s clearing out his work shop, one thing that’s now suplus to requirements is the vice my grandfather bolted onto the ancient workbench that’s still in use til this day.

We know he built it in 1932 so that would be the vintage, from what I can tell it’s a Parkinson’s Model-F made in Englnd. It’s huge and weighs a ton. It still opens and closes but needs a bit of love.

Anyone know a bit more about these? worth restoring?

Dropbox seems to not want to embed image.

No, not worth restoring,it’s just a basic bench vice, but worth keeping as it’s a pretty valuable tool at times.
£100ish new, in that condition, maybe £30 2nd hand.

Thanks for the heads up. A mate’s just offered to take it off my dad’s hands for £25, sounds like a win.

That looks like a cracking vice to me, quick release slide too. It will be around in another hundred years time.
