STW London ride

Rode most of it today and the Cavalry Tunnel is closed due to the bridge reconstruction, and the boardwalk is the slippiest thing since Mr Slippy invented slippyness.
Feltham marshalling yard has some fun berms 'n' stuff as long as we steer clear of the scary tent city at the west end.
We'll need to motor in places to get round - bring some lights for just in case and the journey home kids.
If you're very lucky we might bring some home made Hairy Bikers samosas for on trail fud.
A.Posted 2 years ago # -
i unfortunately don't own any lights
Posted 2 years ago # -
Not even ickle front and rear lights for cycling home in the dark?
No need for anything more than that.
Richmond Bridge , 10.00, Sunday morning.
Oh, RB will be there (so he assures me).Posted 2 years ago # -
Unfortunately it doesn't look like I can make it this weekend now. I haven't got a bike down here yet, and I'm waiting on somebody in Glasgow sending one down. As they still haven't done so there isn't much chance of getting it for this weekend.
It's a pity, as I could do with seeing some routes around here. But maybe next time...
Posted 2 years ago # -
whereabouts in London are you based... maybe someone could lend you a ride (I may have a spare, maybe)?
Posted 2 years ago # -
So how many definites are turning up on sunday then?
Posted 2 years ago # -
this is just a pootle right? so my 'inexperienced' wife would be OK to come along? might try to encourage her onto a jump or two perhaps, wouldn't be suprised if she does better than me in fact
If so, then there'll be two of us coming from Angel... how far is the route planned to be btw?
Posted 2 years ago # -
ooh if its not pissing it down I might pop alng from Ealing
Posted 2 years ago # -
yep I'll be there.
I've got what I think is a nice route planned out for another london ride too, after trying a chunk of it at the weekend it seemed good. I'll start another thread for that ride and arrange a date.
Oh and could provide a bike if you are able to come to me, Upper Norwood.

Yay! Al - bringing those s-max legs?
It'll be about 3 hours riding. Pretty flat. Jumps if you want.
Hopefully not too much faffin'
oh, and maybe some documentary evidence.Posted 2 years ago # -
so quite a bit of stopping then if we may need lights......bring your beer money everyone
Posted 2 years ago # -
I am a definite. Satan himself couldn't prevent me from turning up. Because on Sunday, at 10am, on Richmond Bridg, the greatest ride the world has ever seen will be undertaken by all of us.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I'm sorry. I've had an awful lot of steroids in my treatment today. Forgive the last demented post.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Well, it only needs a very small critical mass of riders for a ride to turn into a faff-fest. Oh, and there's the bmx track which should remove a fair bit of skin.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I'm toying with the idea of coming out on this ride if it's OK with you chaps?
Just gotta see if I'm busy or not first.....
Posted 2 years ago # -
pah! i am gutted to say i am probably going to miss out on this due to change of plans for moving house!
i look forward to doing a similar ride in the future? maybe could make it a regular spin?
Posted 2 years ago # -
I'm based in Surbtion psychle.
I should have a bike next week so I'll get out soon anyway even if I don't make this one - so I'm hoping it becomes regular too pinches.
Posted 2 years ago # -
you're making excuses ally....if you want to ride on sunday I can provide wheels. if you've you've had a better offer, good for you, just admit it.
NPosted 2 years ago # -
psychle - yes it is a pootle along the river crane so will be ok for your wife - good to have another female.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Yay! Looks like I can come and MrsPP will do too I think, being as it looks more 'pootle' than 'hardcore'
We'll probably both come on our commuter bikes. Are 7sp Carrras allowed?Any chance someone could do a link to the start point? I think I know where it is, but I'd like to be sure

I believe that this should work.
7 speed? - niche!Posted 2 years ago # -
I'm thinking of going all out and riding the Enduro, you need 6" of travel for a London pootle, right?
or maybe this is a good opportunity for the first STW outing of the 'new improved' 2-speed Frankenbike... decisions decisions... and I still have to decide what to wear!
Posted 2 years ago # -
As we'll be riding through the Hamptons - basically whatever you're riding - ride it like you stole it
Posted 2 years ago # -
aP - Yes that's where I thought it was, cheers. See ya Sunday. I shall bring the camera, the last London ride we did turned out like this

See everyone tomorrow.
Posted 2 years ago # -
There seems to be a few of us heading from Ealing, anyone up for meeting up to ride to the start point?
Posted 2 years ago # -
I've just realsied the river is north south at richmond so 'Southern end of the bridge' was a bit of a daft comment by me....I doun't suppose it will cause problems though. See you tomorrow.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I'm from Ealing, so can someone email me direct (in profile) if an Ealing group is heading off together to Richmond.
Cheers folks!

Just found this post. Me and SO fancy a tag along. Had a few weeks off the bikes so this looks like a good way to spend a sunday.
Still on. Still 10 am still Richmond Bridge?
Posted 2 years ago # -
