As some of you will know I moved out to Calgary last December.

Yesterday my boss calls me into the office…..you're redundant! I had a feeling it was coming because the building industry has hit a brick wall here.

So I'll be back in the UK before the end of August and can't wait. In truth Canada is a lovely place – Canadians are really awful to deal with day to day.

Lesson learned…..I hear the lakes and calderdale calling me home 🙂

    Bad luck. All the best.

    What's wrong with Canadians then?

Don't expect the building industry to be any better here…

    MTT,

I know how the building industry is but at least I can ride everyday. I didn't realize how important riding was to me until I couldn't do it for 4 months in the winter.

There are so many things I took for granted before.

what if we don't need any plumbers who take this country for granted. The polish guy that does our stuff loves it here so your place has gone.

Why are canadians not so good to live with?

    Plum, sorry to hear that.

Your a QS aint you ? A good few of my QS mates have been through the mill in the past few months, but all are now employed. There is work around, its just damn hard to find it.

Funnily enough, I wasn't that far away from following you couple of years ago, to Alberta infact, but decided against it at the last minute. Had a feeling the building game would go tits up.

    Lowey,

    Yep QS for my sins,

I should be ok financially for a good 6 months after I get back – I'm ok with not working for a while anyway. Hopefully things will pick up a bit this year or next.

Plenty of time for biking and bivvying without the fear of bears liking your face 🙂
