You know, like how you have to push a supermarket trolley with a wonky wheel: mostly forwards but 30 degrees sideways too.

    1) Do all bulldogs do it?

    2) All the time?

    3) Any other breeds do it?

    4) Why? Is it a body language/communication thing?

My Lurcher / Terrier cross goes a bit sideways when he’s on fast-trot mode – his back legs seem to be trying to overtake his front legs and he’s almost sideways sometimes….

think my spaniel does it a bit when trotting. WGAS? she’s happy enough ( ie a bit dappy )

Our staffie cross does it and so did my gsd. I think at certain speeds they have to just to avoid a clash of legs.

My rhodesian ridgeback does the same when trotting. Nothing to worry about I would imagine.

Are you confusing bulldogs with bishops?

if you had knackers proportionately that large, you’d walk funny too.

My Jack Russell does it when she gets some speed up. I’ve always thought it was so she could fit her rear paws/legs between her front ones as she runs.

Our Jack Russell/Chiwawa cross does this when she gets some speed up too.
I thought it was linked to her being freakishly small, but it does look like it’s so her back legs can fit between her front legs.

    I hadn’t worried about it.

My cocker spaniel does it… Always assumed it was because he only has one eye 😉

    Chapeau!

I’ve seen lots of dogs do this but usually only very lanky ones – thus adding weight to the leg overlap theory above.

My American Bulldog also does it…
