Using Google chrome, everytime I open it up, I get a ‘Trojan Horse Blocked’ alert, says the infection is HTML:Iframe-inf and that the process is either:

http://www.facebook.com/plugins/likebox.php

or

R2.ace.advertising.com/

Both with a long string of code afterwards (that includes the http://www.singletrackworld.com url)

I thought this was just for STW, but it seems to be any web page I open in Chrome? I’ve done a full scan with Avast and it didn’t find anything, any ideas what I should do next?

Again, just tried something else, opened Explorer and got the same error/alert message… WTF is going on? 🙁

Make sure you’re running the latest version of Avast.

Getting the same on my laptop and Mrs netbook, both reported virsuses and shows works fine on my PC though a scan both showed infections but hasn’t fixed the problem. Down side of none techno wife and a 8 year old using both.

Reckon it’s a database issue though as the PC is updated with latest but the Laptop and Netbook aren’t and they won’t update.

Yep – I had that tonight. On both Chrome and IE7. Re-installing Google Chrome and swapping to Microsoft Security Essentials has sorted it. I suspect it is Avast being overly officious.

It’s only just started tonight though? I haven’t changed any settings, has there been an update or something?

Hmmm…. just ran windows update and installed Service Pack 1 (no idea why it hadn’t automatically done so?), seems to have fixed the Avast problem, no warnings after the restarts….

just downloaded avast 6.0.1000 via their site, seems to have sorted it.

Same here, updated virus database and ‘engine’ all OK now. Wish I found this thread before trying numerous restores..

I’m restoring over 7k of files from the chest on the wife’s notebook it out there last night that aren’t viruses. Laptop is next.

Microsoft Security found some malicious java stuff that Avast hadn’t – don’t know if it’s related.

Only in the sense of the database being bugged would maybe be why Avast missed it.
