Any worth the money for <£100?

Need to find copper pipes in concrete but knowing where wires are/are not in walls would be nice too.

I bought one from maplin for about £15. Seemed accurate enough, though it didn’t find the live wire that I drilled through. which is what I bought it for.

I find a hammer and nail to be pretty reliable.

    😆 @ the wire!

It’s a toss up between an expensive Bosch one at toolstation but they don’t get good reviews, cheap one at toolstation (cheap enough to be crap) or some star trek looking one at Maplin (can’t wait for postage). Off to maplin for some laser pointers for an experiment shortly so will take a look. They might let me try it out in their shop.

Be very wary of the Maplin one, I got one and its incredibly hit and miss. Wound up drilling through at water pipe as a result of it not being picked up. Ended up costing £200 to repair.

I’d buy something better which is what I’m planning on doing.
