Just about to head out in the next hour to see my folks in Stockport, on the way back I wanted to check out some new trails, anyone have any reccomendations? Please nothing Marple/Mellor way as I have done that to death. I hear Reddish Vale is supposed to be good, but no idea where to go to start etc…any help appreciated!

The Vale is OK as a means to getting to somewhere else but not great for more than an hour. You can maybe link it up with Vernon Park, Woodbank and Chadkirk but again only as an off road means to get to Mellor and the Peaks.

How about heading out through Lyme Park and into Goyt Valley, round to Macc Forest and back? You could even go left at the top of Goyt Valley and go down into Buxton and onto Cavedale/Pindale etc or come back via Whalley Bridge and do some Hayfield stuff and then home through Mellor?

I came up through Reddish Vale this morning. It's a bit sticky but nice for an off road commute.
