  • sticking car window, what can i use?

    My windows stick shut and i have to up/down/up/down them to free them first thing what can i coat the tops with to stop this, i thought oil would just rub off?

    On customers cars in winter, I spray a bit of silicone lube in the gap the window closes into to prevent this.

    If you don’t have that, some dash dressing or other silicone based stuff will work.

    Silicon lube is useful and you can get it cheap enough from Halfords.

    Might be worth checking the window regulator mechanism to make sure that the window hasn’t developed play causing it to drag and / or catch as you operate it.

    Put the window down, take hold of the top and see if you can move it side to side.
