A part from cy, who makes one?
Disk and rack mounts will be much useful.
I have been looking in various catalog, but I could only find aluminium frames.

why do you want discs for commuting?

    Because I WANT…
Better stopping power, better modulation, better when road is covered in crap, better when it’s wet etc etc

Discs are a nice low maintenance option on a commuter but certainly not essential.

It is here were road are extremly slipery when wet, when people drive like master poo-heads, when they drive even worst when it rains and when they think they own the road because they have the last german 4×4/berline/sportcar etc etc…
I really am not looking forward to the film festival to be honest…

discs are a total boon on the commuter bike, for me primarily due to less maintenance and mess, & rims not wearing out.

I just swapped from an aluminium road bike to a steel one and i have to say there is not much difference in terms of the ride feel. The biggest difference is that I can put bigger tyres on it.

realistically, how much braking is there on the average commute? 🙄

less mess, I’d agree, less maintenance I wouldn’t.

Dunno if your commute hilly, wet, muddy discs make a lot of sense IMHO.Not essential just nice.
Genesis Croix de Fer looks nice though not the best value
Otherwise any slicked up hardtail with a rigid fork?
