  • Stans: clear fluid leaking around tyre bead?

Right then, just done 4 wheels ghetto tubeless with 2 Maxxis Chronicles and 2 Surly Buds.

First wheel done with Joes, sealed no problem, job done.

The other 3 were done with Stans. They haven’t gone flat over the last 2 weeks, but they keep leaking clear fluid from around the bead.

Wheels have been topped up, shaken and all that good stuff, but they still keep oozing this clear stuff.

Stans IMO is a bit shite and I have ordered a big bottle of Joes to do them all again.

I did see the MTBR post on this issue, but is it common? Does anyone else have this problem?

Did you give the bottle a REALLY big shake first before it went in the tyres?

Yeah it happens with some tyres, still works fine though.

Aye, brand new bottle, turned upside down and shook for ages, but there was still a few clots at the bottom, rubber hairballs.

Happens to my tyres regularly, not caused any issues.
