Just a heads up if anyone’s planning to ride down the Stanage causeway at speed in the near future…

There are signs saying ROAD CLOSED at each end, with a smaller note saying it’s open to everything but 4x4s, as a culvert has collapsed. If you’re riding down the causeway, it’s on the left (surprisingly enough…) just before the gateposts, where it’s starting to smooth out and get a bit faster. If you hit it at speed and plough into it, it will probably not do your bike any good, as it is almost as deep as the signs make it sound. Stick right, and you should be OK.

I did watch a couple of MXers/scrambler bikes nearly go into it on their way up; it may be more visible on the way down, but I thought I’d post this in case it’s not. But the Packhorse trail is more fun as a descent anyway!
