    Thanks for clicking on the message despite possibly the world’s least interesting title.

    As title suggests, I have a SRAM X9 drivetrain on my ASR-5 – would it be possible to replace the rear derailleur and corresponding shifter with Shimano, and still have them work happily with the SRAM front derailleur and SRAM cassette/rings?

    Chain, rings, cassette, front mech and shifter are all interchangeable.
    Rear Mech and Shifter must be pared. (except if you bodge something with a 9sp and 10sp etc but thats an entire other thread) cable pull ratio is different.
