May seem a bit of a dumb question but want to make sure before ordering

SRAM x01 chainrings can be had in 94 or 104bcd pattern

Can I assume a SRAM 104 chainring will work fine and dandy with with a shimano set of cranks?

    Cheers!

Why not by the ones from Race Face they are cheaper, and just as effective

Cos the rest of the group will be x01 so was trying to get it all sram apart from the cranks

Assume the RF one will mesh with the chain just the same? As the blurb says sram xx0/1 chains have been designed to mesh with their chainrings

If the sram ring doesn’t work on the shimano crank, you’ll need to buy a sram crank. So, buy the ring and try it on your current crank. You can’t go wrong, really.

The only difference of the XX1/X01 chain compaired to a normal 10 speed is the outer width of the cahin it narrower on a XX1/X01 but the internal width is the exact same a 10 speed chain.

So you can without any issues use a normal 10 speed chain ring on a XX1/X01 chain.
I would just buy the RF.

Race Face all the way, no reason to spend anymore from my experience.
