Just tried to take my chainset apart for the first time to service the BB, but on undoing the crank bolt, the whole bolt and puller cap has come out of the crank. Now I don’t know how to get the cap back in. Special tool?

16mm hex key.

5/8″ hex head bolt as a substitute,From the park tools site.

As you are just screwing the pulling cap back in and only need it so tight you can use a 6mm and a 10mm hex key popped in together. That is how I have done mine in the past. Clearly do not try to over tighten as this will knacker it.
