Many of you will have heard of the multi-day cross-Sardinia "Transardinia". There is also very good technical freeride and all-mountain riding.

To drive between two points 3 km line-of-sight apart takes 2:30 and 80 km; the Transardinian did it with 19 km 650 m climbing on doubletrack; if you can ride AM you can do it with 6 km 200 m of climbing, including 500 m on foot.
