Noticed strange noises from my drivetrain on my last ride and today had a look in daylight to see what was wrong. The top jockey wheel/guide pulley would go round under power but siezed up when free-wheeling to the extent the chain nearly dropped off.
Is there anyway of getting the jockey wheel off it looks to be rivetted on?
Not that I know of - Try drilling it out then put a suitable sized stainless nut and bolt in? you might have to centre punch the rivet as its quite shiney - on the other hand a new one is prob only gonna cost you £15-£20 or try and get one of classifieds?

Well I gave it a go.
Drilled out the rivet with a 8mm cordless drill.
Discovered that the whole cage assembly and spring pivot off that rivet, so it all fell apart.
Drilled and tapped the end of the rivet for an M4 screw.
Cross cut the other end of the rivet with a hacksaw to make a slot for a screwdriver.
Now for a test ride see if it falls apart.
