I am trying to set up Guide RSC brakes with Hope adapters and 203mm front and 180mm rear Hope discs

doesn’t seem to work without rubbing

can i use the discs with other adapters (Avid) or do I also need Avid discs?

I’m pretty sure you need to use sram/avid mounts and rotors that aren’t floating, that was what I was advised when having a set of guides fitted a few days ago.

As far as I am aware, you’re not restricted to just Avid disc rotors.

Odd, I use that exact disc combination with my Guide RS on X Fusion forks & Transition frame with no problems.

mattbee – what adapters are you using? I’m using Hope ones and trying to sort it with washers under caliper to move it out a bit

I tried in the dark last night so couldn’t see properly which didn’t help

Got a Superstar adapter on the back & a Shimano one in front.
Forks are 180mm disc minimum so it’s a smaller adapter than I used on my Sektors.

Resolved – it was the floating rotors hitting the caliper. Nothing a bit of filing couldn’t sort out !
