I’m trying to run an Alfine on my trance so need a sprung chain tensioner.

the one I have seems to feed the chain to wrongly onto the cog causing the chain to slip. it looks like it doesn’t have enough adjustment side to side to line up with the cog.

does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next?

The only spring tensioner I’ve used was a surly singleator and that had quite a lot of sideways adjustment apart from that I am no help at all!

I’ve been using a Rohloff Downhill tensioner on my Giant NRS – seems to be really good and you can adjust the chainline using the supplied spacers.

There is an Alfine sprung tensioner.

I have a singulator clone that I switched to push up using a singulator spring. Works fine but fiddly. I think I would prefer a BB mount tensioner like the YES ones.

I wasn’t sure if the Alfine one was sprung and they seem to do 2. one kinda normal looking and one like a rear mech.

I like the idea of the YES one but not sure if it would foul the linkage on the Trance
