Just goolging this and it looks possible but has anyone got any experience of getting Spotify working on a Raspberry Pi?

Any recommendations for the best distro to use?

    Cheers!

I’ve got Volumio running, with a Spotify plugin installed so it can run Spotify both directly through the web interface and also via spotify connect.

My install works fine with Wheezy (and Stretch on a laptop). Based on that i guess the latest version of Raspbian would be ok.

A little bit of tinkering was required, but i guess that’s what you bought the Pi for!!! 🙂

    Enjoy!

I did it a while ago using Pi MusicBox – dunno if it’s been developed. The interface wasn’t the greatest but it worked well. Control was via a page hosted the Pi, so you could access from anywhere on the network.
You couldn’t cast to it though. That’s why I went to using Chromecast Audios – so much easier to use, and allowed casting to multiple devices.

Spotimc was mentioned in a recent TrustedReviews article for legal addons:

Ah cool, I’m currently running OpenELEC (Kodi) so this might be perfect.

    Thanks all for your suggestions.
