A mate has popped round to ask me to replace his wrecked BB on his 03 Epic.
I didn’t recognise the BB type so can anyone shed some light?
It has a Spesh crankset and with the bolts(m12?)removed the axle is hollow.
They are not Hollowtech 1 or 2.
    They are not truvative.

    Cheers guys.

It’s an Octalink job, you’ll have to measure the axle length, and confirm the spline type, they nearly all used the 3rd from left with the deeper splines, which means you need an ES50/70 in the appropriate size, some versions of the Strong Arm cranks used the version with shallower splines, in which case you have to get an M950, but I think that was only on the S-Works cranks in 2001/02.

On my enduro it was 68mm wide with an axle length of 113mm IIRC. Have a look on the spesh website and it should list the details.
    Here you go

    BOTTOM BRACKET
Shimano ES-70 XT, Octalink spline, 68mm shell width, 113mm spindle length

    Thanks, guys.

Will I need a special extractor?
Was looking at one of these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=10181

X-Tools Sq taper & ISIS Extractor.
