Mate has left me his Stumpy here to put new headset in and generally sort his lack of maintenance. Front hub is a Specialized Stout, bolt through job. Is it serviceable ? As it runs like a brick. Can’t fathom out if end caps can be prised off to introduce Mr.Grease to Mr. Bearing. Please excuse me if the answer is blindingly obvious !

A lot of the parts for the Stout hubs have been discontinued, best to take it to you’re LBS and see what parts are still available.

    Yep, can service them.

Put axle into end cap and use to prise out adaptor-only the retaining ring is press fit. Then you will see 2 cartridge bearings that can be knocked out and replaced.

Can’t remember bearing code off top of my head.

    Thanks,

    A
