    OH MY GOD!!!

I've just had one of the toughest weeks at work for a long while – plus loads of things have gone wrong (Car Aircon bust, camera broken, Riding glasses arms come off) so I was really starting to think things were against me.

Got back late from work and had to ask a neighbour very kindly to go our of her way to pick one kid from school and the other from nursery as I had been held up on the M25.

Walked into the house, couldn't see any post so got the kids ready for bed and thought I'd chill and watch some TV with them.

Sat in the Living room and I notice a package on the mantlepiece. "Great…" I think "…my Sunnies are back from Spesh after being fixed – just in time for a ride tomorrow".

Open them up and it's a pair of glasses, not mine but a BRAND NEW pair replaced under warranty 🙂

THIS HAS MADE MY YEAR!!! wel at least made my week 🙂

    (Sat here wearing them now)

I work in a bike shop that is a well known specilized dealer. There warrenty department is fantastic, they just seem to hand out rather than any kind of bad press.

Once you've been on the receiving end of the their customer service, its hard to buy anything else. You know they will stand by their kit. Period.
    Nice work.

Giant warranty is up there with Spesh! Awesome.

    From my experience (both in the trade and since) the best warranty back up comes from the following;
    Spesh
    Hope
    Oakley
    Giant
    (In no particular order).

This is exactly why I've bought 3 Specialized bikes in the last 15 months.

First ride out on my new road bike, collided with my fella bending a spoke. Went to LBS explaining what had happened and asking them to order the spoke for repair. Got a phone call, Specialised sent me a new set of wheels instead of repairing the other one. Not only that they UPGRADED them!! Must run into each other more often! Made me very happy. Geeat customer service

They gave me the brush off after 4 month use wheels were fubared, but we've been here before and we came to the conclusion that apparently it's my fault and that 15+ years riding (only ever needing 1 replacement wheel and 2 sets of bearings in all that time) hasn't given me sufficient experience to gauge how I've treated a wheelset in 4 months usage. In fact I think we decided I know absolutely sod all about wheels.

I tell a lie – I now need another replacement rim. The 10yr old Mavic D521 rear on my Kona has worn through (V brakes). It still does a better impersonation of a circle than my Roval rear wheel. The never serviced XT hub somehow seems to do a better job of spinning smoothly too. Ok, this bike hasn't been used (although not unused) in the last 4 years, but come on – it's been everywhere the full bouncers have – Jacobs, Roman Rd, Beast etc, etc.

Had a 2009 stumpy ht comp alu. Noticed the rear wheel was slightly off centre. Turned out the frame was out of alignment. No 18" frames left and 2010 only come in 17.5" and 19" in alu.
Long story short now proud owner of 2010 s-works ht frame!!! Well happy.

Perhaps I should drop them an e-mail.

The seat tube of my new Stumpjumper had some serious burrs in that put deep gouges into the seat post.
Took it to ths shop & they attempted to sort it & have improved it but not cured it completely. Even with the seat clamp completely slack, sliding the seat post in & out of the tube leaves small scratches.

I've just bought an On One frame and the seat tube I bought is pretty tight (tighter than the Spesh fit), but it doesn't scratch the post.

The shop reckon it's just dirt getting in there, but even when immaculately clean it does it and I've never had an issue with my other bikes…….would Spesh UK look into this, do you reckon……..?

Back in 2004 I bought my first f/s,built around an S-Works Enduro frame.

Six months later notice excessive wear on one side of the shock. Phoned my local supplying LBS on Monday morning & described the wear. Was asked to bring the bike in & they would send the shock off to Spesh. LBS man took a look at the state of the shock,& got straight on the phone to Spesh's warranty dept. Five mins later, came out of the office & told me that they were sending the full bike away to Spesh.

Three days later,Thurday afternoon, phone call of my LBS to say that my bike was back & could collect it. Went over after work,& was presented with the bike built up around a brand new frame & shock. Apparently the rear triangle was manufactured out of alignment, causing the wear.

    Can't fault service like that.

I've had 3 replacement frames from Spesh so far, and that includes the first being second hand.

Fantastic service all round – they're always just a (helpful) phone call away, and you can even drop in to their warehouse/HQ.

Trek replaced my OCLV road frame and forks to a much upgraded version after 14 years without a second thought. Didn't have my original receipt, but someone at Trek remembered getting the original frame shipped in as a special order from the States! I was gobsmacked.

cool, but are the actually ok in the dark?? can i use them as do it all pair, without being unable to see in the dark? my adaptalites didnt really help much in the dark, superb in the sunlight, but as soon as it went dull/dark they become pretty shite 🙁

Didzy – haven't got a clue, only got them yesterday.

I'd always use clear lenses but they seem to go quite light in the dark but that was while watching TV last night.

Yep. Back in 2001, I was sold a dodgy Spesh Stumpy FSR M4 by a crooked bike shop in Worcester. Only realised it was a bad 'un after I took it to my (then) LBS for a see-to after the rear wheel just WOULD NOT stay in the frame. It got sent back to Specialized, who discovered that it was part of a knock-off of frames that shouldn't have left the factory.

They built all the existing groupsets back on to a BRAND NEW FRAME and gave it back to me for nowt…

What happened to the Worcester bike shop, I couldn't say.
