  • Specialized HiLo rear hub 2015, what should be inside it?

    After this hub developed play and the freehub got loose I took it apart.

    In between the innermost sealed cartridge bearing of the freehub, and the 3-pawled ratchet mechanism, were some thin shavings of metal.

    Should there be / was there a washer there? Or have they been shaved off the hub, freehub or cartridge bearings?

    Preferred answer is an exploded parts diagram but I’d be grateful if anybody just knows!
