I'm running a Spearfish in the UK. Was built up by my LBS in part but mostly by me.
Last time in there i asked him to fit the PF / HT2 converters.
I then ran a standard XTR HT2 bottom bracket.
When swapping due to excessive play in the BB, i noticed that he'd set the spacers up with 1 spacer on the non-drive side and no spacer on the drive side. I assume this was for chain line reasons rather than anything else ?
So i was just wondering how you'd work out the correct chainline etc ? Something like, if in middle ring on front and middle on rear your chain should be perfectly straight? or.....
Reason i ask is that the cheapo BB i fitted (came with the cranks) seems to have developed a creak, (which i'll confirm tonight with a pedal swap) So i've bought a HOPE BB to aleviate this issue, just wanted to make sure i fit it in the optimum way.
I rarely use my LBS, but i trust he built it this way for a reason, he's very very good, i only got him to do it as i didn't have an appropriate tool for the pressing in of the cups/adaptors.
