Is there a product that clips in to an spd to turn it into a flat pedal?

Largely I’m planning on using my cobbled together commuter with spds, but on occasion will want to use it as a pub / town bike and will want to wear regular shoes.

Some/most come with some kind of plate to allow them to be ridden arround the shop (and attatch reflectors to get arround those rules). Ask in your local bike shop if they have any spares being thrown away?

Yes. Often comes on new bikes and if you ask around here, I’m sure someone will donate a couple. However, they are plastic and shiny…..

As an alternative, how about the PD-M324??

Shimano do make a plastic plate that clips into the pedals- ypu often see them on new bikes.

It is possible to bodge your own with some old cleats- I’ve seen some wooden pedals made this way

upon reflection, it might just be better to go with something double sided.

Do they always fall down to flat side down or spd side down? or are they roughly balanced weight wise so they stay put?

IIRC, the M-324s tend to end up flat-side down.

have tried adaptors in the past and if you forget your not clipped in you tend to turn your heal out and unclip them. This results in ultimate death.
