Can i put castrol sae10w mineral fork oil in my fox forks, I’ve have been using finish line to top up after a wiper service but that has now gone. So now I want to do a full oil change and I’m wondering if it’s better synthetic or mineral?

Depends. You can’t use that if you need a damper. However, it will be fine for slashing about in the bottom of the legs if it’s just for lubrication. Exactly which fork is it? Sealed damper or not?

Fox talas and a set of floats, 2009/10 they are not the FIT system. So would synthetic be a better option?

I think 10w Fox oil is actually Silkolene RSF,which you can get from motorbike shops at less than half the Fox price,it’ll be kinder to your damper.

+1 for motorbike shop, just done my 888’s much cheaper than mtb fork oil (and a much bigger bottle)

Fully synthetic, 10 weight or 7.5 if you’re really light.
    From a good brand:
    Motul,
    Castrol,
    Fuchs/Silkolene

Synthetic (probably) will be changing 4-5 times this year I think so cheaper = better!!

Mineral oil is a bad idea for forks – stick to fully synthetic.
