I suspect this place would become very boring if we thought like this:

“I am wiser than this man, for neither of us appears to know anything great and good; but he fancies he knows something, although he knows nothing; whereas I, as I do not know anything, so I do not fancy I do. In this trifling particular, then, I appear to be wiser than he, because I do not fancy I know what I do not know.”

The children now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise.

    Allegedly by Socrates.

    Some things never change.

At the end of the day you have to be philosophical, its a game of two halves.

    I do not know anything

Pfffft.. you’re straight into a logical paradox there Socrates me old mate.

At the very least you appear to know that you “do not know anything”, which means you do know something…

As usual, Shakespeare said it better:

“The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.”

You’re saying Shakespeare would take Socrates in a wisdom smack-down?

    Methinks perhaps not.

Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed,
A lovely little thinker, but a bugger when he’s pissed.
